Public Hearing on PA Redistricting Legislation Announced

Editor’s Note: We waned to share this news, courtesy of our friends at Fair Districts PA. You can read more about the organization, which is working to end partisan political map-drawing (a practice commonly known as gerrymandering) in Pennsylvania, on its website.

The House State Government Committee will hold an informational meeting on House Bill 1835, a piece of legislation co-sponsored by Reps. David Parker and Mary Jo Daley to create an independent impartial citizens redistricting commission.

The legislation would create strict guidelines for redistricting that govern public participation, transparency and compactness.

The public is welcome to attend.

Time: 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Place: G50 Irvis Office Building in Harrisburg
